Getting started

Download the launcher.
Use the button above. You get a single file,
Keelstrap.exe— not a zip, not an installer. -
Pick a folder for it to live in.
Keelstrap asks where it should install itself on first run. Somewhere like
C:\Users\you\Keelstrapworks well. Don't put it inside the Roblox install folder. - Run Keelstrap.exe. It downloads the current Roblox client, applies your settings, and starts the game. After the first run, launching Roblox from the Start menu or desktop shortcut goes through Keelstrap automatically.
- Sign in and play. Everything from here on is Roblox itself. Keelstrap stays in the background and keeps the client up to date.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
- An internet connection for the first download
- Roughly 500 MB of free disk space for the Roblox client
Updating
Keelstrap checks for a new version when it starts and updates itself in the background — there is nothing to reinstall. If Roblox ships a new client version, the launcher picks that up the same way.
To update manually, download the latest Keelstrap.exe from the button above and replace your
existing copy. Your settings are kept.
Uninstalling
Delete the folder you chose during setup — that removes Keelstrap and everything it installed. There is no separate uninstaller and nothing is written outside that folder.
FAQ
Is Keelstrap free?
Yes. Keelstrap is free to download and use.
Is it safe to use with my Roblox account?
Keelstrap only downloads and launches the official Roblox client. It does not modify the game client, and it never asks for your password. As with any third-party launcher, use it at your own discretion.
Does it work on Windows 7 or 8?
No. Windows 10 or later is required.
My antivirus flagged the download. Is that expected?
New, low-download executables sometimes trigger generic warnings. The file is served directly from the official download endpoint linked on this page. If you are unsure, ask in the Discord before running it.
The launcher says the download failed. What now?
Check your internet connection and try again — Roblox client downloads occasionally fail on flaky networks. If it keeps failing, restart the launcher, then ask in the Discord with a screenshot of the error.
Where are my settings stored?
Inside the folder you chose during setup, next to the launcher itself. Moving or deleting that folder moves or deletes your settings with it.
Can I use it on multiple PCs?
Yes. Install it separately on each PC; there is no account or license tied to the launcher.
Where do I report a bug or ask a question?
The Discord is the fastest place to get help.
